| Civcom Debuts New Line of Tunable 10G Small
Form Factor Transponders at ECOC 2008
Long Reach SFF Device Offers Equipment
Manufacturers Choice of Lithium Niobate or Indium
Phosphide Modulator
PETACH TIKVA, ISRAEL, September 8th 2008 – Civcom, a leading
technology developer and manufacturer of Opto-electronic
components, modules and subsystems, today announced the availability
of a new line of Tunable SFF 10G 300PIN MSA transponders. These new
products expand Civcom's existing Free Light™ family of tunable
transponders, offering equipment manufacturers the high performance
they require in a cost-effective SFF device. The SFF transponders are
available for immediate delivery with production devices already
supplied to customers for evaluation purposes.
The new SFF transponders are available in two models, using either a
Lithium Niobate or Indium Phosphide modulator. This gives manufacturers
the flexibility to choose their optimal solution in accordance with their
customers' performance and budgetary requirements. In addition, the
new transponders can be used in conjunction with Civcom's Free-Path
family of manageable dispersion compensation modules (M-DCM) as a
complete optical solution for any distance.
"Our recently launched Tunable SFF 10G transponders line meets market
demand for cost-effective, small footprint optical equipment," stated Yair
Itzhar, VP of Sales and Marketing at Civcom. "These high performance
products, together with Civcom's complete line of optical components
and modules, provide our customers with everything they need to build
the best carrier and enterprise network solutions for a wide variety of
applications. Our track record for delivery features a rapid customization
and production cycle to assure optimal integration of our equipment into
the complete solution design, enabling our customers to enjoy fast time to
market and ROI."
Civcom’s new line of SFF transponders are designed for long reach DWDM
applications. The transponder contains both a 10Gbps widely tunable
transmitter and a wide band receiver. Civcom’s 10G-SFF interface is
compatible with the 300PIN MSA and I2C interface. The SFF transponder
uses a widely tunable laser covering the entire C-Band over distances up
to 80 kilometers. For more information, please visit our website.
Civcom will be hosting one-on-one meetings at ECOC 2008 on September
